A importância do Inglês no Direito: conheça alguns termos e algumas aplicações do idioma na área
O inglês na área do Direito parece ter deixado de ser um diferencial para ser requisito básico. Enfrentar processos seletivos para vagas nos melhores escritórios de advocacia, por exemplo, já é um caminho conhecido, mas para fazer mestrado ou doutorado o inglês vai fazer diferença também.
Separamos algum conteúdo nos ramos de atividade advocatícia nas quais o inglês é aplicado. Confira abaixo:
1 – Direito Internacional
Aplicação do inglês: É imprescindível ter o idioma fluente para fazer negociações diplomáticas e, claro, atuando no ramo internacional, trabalhar com processos, compreender e se comunicar com eficácia.

2 – Direito do Consumidor
Aplicação do inglês: nesta área do Direito o Brasil recebe uma boa influência do chamado “Direito costumeiro/consuetudinário”, que tem sua base em costumes a partir das tradições dos povos de certa localidade, mas que passaram a ser aceitas como norma.

Aplicação do inglês: Multinacionais necessitam de advogados para entender o sistema jurídico brasileiro, além de necessitar desses profissionais em momentos cruciais de representação, como reuniões e especialmente na orientação de contratos. Tudo em inglês para intermediação.

Aplicação do inglês: como muitas decisões são feitas em território norte-americano, você pode imaginar que os mais diversos casos aconteceram por lá. Se precisar estudar precedentes, consultar, se aprofundar ou mesmo defender uma causa que passe pelos EUA, o inglês é indispensável.

5 – Direito Esportivo
Aplicação do inglês: você pode estar presente em processos internacionais de jogadores, patrocinadores, dentro de escritórios especializados, ou mesmo em casos que envolvam a Federação Internacional de Futebol Associado.
